Re: "It's all YOUR Fault
Josh,
I wanted to take a minute to let you know it is all your fault. I have been
training with you for about a year and a half now. I have reached a fitness
level, speed and endurance levels that I didn't think would ever be possible for
me, especially now that I am 44 years old.
I tried running on my own, my own way. I told my self, "What do coaches,
magazines and books know that I don't? I ran in high school. I know how to do
this." Boy, Was I wrong. I "ran," it was more like a slow walk shuffle, my
first marathon on January 9, 2005. My time was 5:25:07. I realized during that
event, that I didn't know much about marathon running and I needed help. I was lucky
enough to join your group through the Train to End Stoke program. With just 6
months of training with you I was able to drop my marathon time to 4:51:48.
That was a 33 minute and 19 seconds improvement and I was able to run the
entire way. It's all YOUR fault.
I continued to train with you over the summer and embarked a very aggressive
race schedule. In a 13 month span I was able to run 5 full marathons, 4 half
marathons, 2-10K's, 2-5K's and the Pat Tillman Run. As I trained with you
and your "I Know A Guy Racing" group my time and my weight decreased. I have
lost 35 pounds and set personal records in the marathon, half marathon and 5K.
It's all YOUR Fault. I was able to Win the Clydesdale Division at the 2006
Fiesta Bowl 1/2 Marathon with a PR of 1:41:03. It's all YOUR Fault. I broke
the 4 hour mark at this years PF Changs Rock and Roll Marathon with a 3:59:17.
That is a 1 hour, 25 minutes and 50 seconds improvement after training with
you for 18 months. It's all YOUR Fault. Thank You, Very Much.
I love the group of runners that you have. They are friendly, motivating and
encouraging. You are able to keep practice fun and different. Running with a
partner is always a bonus. All of this is just icing on the cake. It's all
YOUR Fault, and I thank you for it. I look forward to another year with "I Know
A Guy Racing."
